MCI has relocated and expanded its East Providence location
The state’s leading pediatric occupational therapy practice is on the move again in support of its mission to provide exceptional development in support of RI children
(East Providence, RI– July 2024) This month, McNeill Children’s Institute, Rhode Island’s leading independent pediatric occupational therapy practice, announced its new location with a 300% expansion of space in East Providence.
“We saw the need to too many long waiting lists and as we all know early intervention is best practice” We work side by side with Family Behavior Solution, a leader in Applied Behavior Analysis services for children. We are are currently in the process of adding Speech Therapy as well as Counseling creating a hub for pediatric therapies in the East Providence area.

Pediatric OT helps children with unique learning styles, i.e., those who may struggle with various physical, mental and cognitive activities and tasks, grow, learn and interact more successfully in their daily lives: at school, at home, in sports, on the playground, and in the community-at-large.
The new East Providence location, Opened July 1st at 1 Office Parkway in East Providence, will offer MCI-OT’s entire suite of services and will place a specific focus on early intervention for babies and very young children, and teaching feeding and vision therapy skills for children of all ages.
McNeill trained under many of the pioneers of pediatric OT for more than twenty years on the west coast. In early 2020, during the launch of the global pandemic, she made the decision to bring back these innovative techniques and advanced training to her home state of Rhode Island when she noticed there was a scarcity of services for families, which was made worse by those early pandemic years.
MCI has designed state-of-the-art sensory rooms for each clinic that stimulate the child’s mind and imagination. The company offers “Drop In & Play” periodically for kids from each community to drop in and experience the sensory rooms. Sarah McNeill is internationally renowned as a consultant for pediatric OT sensory room design.
McNeill Children’s Institute is rewriting the playbook for exceptional pediatric occupational therapy in Rhode Island. The practice currently has three locations in North Kingstown, Middletown and East Providence taking insurances. It was founded in March 2020 by Sarah McNeill , OTR/L and employs nearly 20 pediatric occupational therapists.
